Systems Thinking
Better Outcomes

We help rural water providers navigate today’s challenges to build resilient, sustainable systems with lasting community impacts.

Who We Are

Hydrolytica is a consulting practice based in southwest Colorado that helps rural water providers and local governments navigate the complexities of the water sector. We provide clarity and direction regarding day-to-day operational challenges, policy, governance, regulation, and funding.

What We Do

Many water systems across the region are under strain from prolonged drought, growth, and aging infrastructure. Because the costs of expanding or replacing these systems are often beyond the means of small providers, we provide the strategic expertise needed to prioritize investments and ensure long-term resilience.

Our core services include:

  • Strategic Advisory & Oversight: Helping you identify your most pressing technical and operational needs to set a clear path forward.

  • Funding & Financing: Navigating bureaucratic landscapes to access better opportunities.

  • Project Origination & Procurement: Supporting you through implementation to ensure funds are spent wisely.

  • Operational Guidance: Improving day-to-day operations and maintenance for increased efficiency.

  • Governance and Policy: Clarifying competing objectives and streamlining decision-making to strengthen performance.

Our work often begins upstream of engineering and design to ensure your technical projects are focused, justified, and positioned for success. As a long-term partner, we provide the continuity needed to realign projects that have drifted off-track or re-evaluate programs as priorities and conditions evolve.

How We Work

Most challenges aren't purely technical; they sit at the intersection of infrastructure, funding, operations, and governance. Looking at one piece in isolation often leads to short-term fixes that create long-term problems.

We adopt a systems view, helping you see the full picture and make decisions grounded in local realities—technically and operationally. This approach leads to systemic change, resulting in water systems that are better managed, easier to operate, and more resilient.
